Happy Sunday! I’m trying some new things this year and expanding myself with blogging challenges. While reading some blogs I came across an easy way to try to get myself to take some pictures. It is not a natural thing for me. It truly is a challenge but hey, we all need to be stretched, don’t we.
I’m linking up with A Cookbook and A Camera for the iSpy 2021 Photo Challenge.
Each week Lysha gives prompts and the photographer {me} takes a chance and makes an interpretation with my photo. Here’s what I found this week.
Parts ~ This photo is a little heartbreaking for me. Upon our move back to Texas and the unpacking a full year later, I discovered that some things were missing. Things that mean nothing to anyone else but are tied to my heart. Family thing. Things Mom thought were important. My parts are the only pieces left of jars that came from my grandma’s house. Jars that had been used in her kitchen and had zinc lids. No idea what the movers did with the box of them and after a year I’ll never know.
Hungry ~ My husband and I were hungry for Tortilla Soup on the Sunday we were slated for snow, which never came. Nonetheless, we were cold and needed something to warm our insides and our hearts. Enter Tortilla Soup!
Details ~ On Saturdays, I wash sheets. Since the weather has turned chilly, I decided to change the blanket under our bedspread. My grandma made this quilt and in it, I see details of the clothing that she made for herself years ago. I can still picture her in some of those pieces.
Home ~ I continue to put our home together after our move in December. It’s a work in progress and the hardest part for me is decorating. Help me with my empty walls…send reinforcements! I don’t know what to do.
Sky ~ Friday was such a beautiful morning. I stepped out onto the back patio and the sky was gorgeous. I snapped this picture with my phone and it turned out perfect.
Truth be told, I’m a day late with this challenge but I’m posting anyway to hold myself accountable to something new I wanted to try.
Have a great day, friends!

My mother in law has lots of old jars like your “parts” that she puts M&M’s and candies in; I will always associate those types of jars with her. Sorry you had some go missing in the move. Your house look like it is coming together nicely!

Decorating a new place can be the hardest thing. For our last two moves, I wouldn’t hang things for a good month or two because so many times I move things around, LOL!!!

Oh, I’m so sorry all your treasures didn’t make it in the move. Those jars are gorgeous. I have found the older I get the more I appreciate old things, especially things that were special to family members.

I forgot to mention your ‘details’ photo isn’t showing up in the post.
