Well, it’s been more than a hot minute since my fingers slid across my keyboard to compose a blog post. It’s something that I have missed and yet easy to let slide because at my day job I spent a majority of the hours there doing this…writing. However, I’ve decided I miss my little space here in the cyber world and am going to work myself back into writing for myself and not just others.
It’s hard to believe that tomorrow we enter the last month of 2023! It always seems as though it takes forever to get through a year and then I’m wrong and days on the calendar are but a few. Like most of us, the year has been filled with things – all of them. There is not enough time and space to do a rundown of an entire year, but instead, I think November is a good place to start.
Earlier this year, sometime in August we bought a camper. Not just any camper, but a Winnebago! This is special to my heart because my parents worked there and they are manufactured in my home town.
We took our little “Chickadee” (affectionately named after my mom) out for the first time in November. Our little family (hubby, me, and puppers) had a sweet time! The goal is to camp once a month.
Being able to perk a pot of coffee with a real percolator was a true delight. We haven’t had the opportunity to do that for several years and we love perked coffee!
Earlier this year in February we got brave and took the plunge – a cold plunge that is. It was a challenge and we grew to “enjoy” it. We recognized the benefits and wanted to keep it up every week, but this is Texas and our long brutal summer made the swimming pool where we live more like a hot tub. So we stopped.
On November 5, we started taking the plunge again. The water is currently a little lower than 50 degrees and it takes some fortitude to get in and stay in. We stayed in for 11 minutes before the water went below 50, now it’s more like five minutes. Still beneficial and I’m thankful to have the opportunity to challenge myself.
I’ve read some great books this month and I’m setting some reading goals for the New Year. I highly recommend the three books mentioned below.
Well, friends that is a little snapshot of November in my simple little life. Simple and lovely!
Looking forward to being here more often, friends.
Blessings to you ~ Carrie
