July absolutely flew by like a really fast heartbeat! I am really where did it go? I guess for me, I was just knee-deep in a summer graduate course. It was eating my lunch and for the most part monopolizing all of my free/spare time. So it is August and the Summer Remix at Greater than Rubies has ended. As with each challenge I participate in, I find out more and more about myself and my style.
What did I learn this time around?
- I am beginning to enjoy the clothing pieces that are in my closet.
- Unlike the challenge in January when I ended up disliking those pieces during the challenge, this time around I still liked those pieces at the end of the month.
- I believe I have come to grips with my personal style which mean I think the pieces I typically wear fit my style.
- For the most part I think I chose my pieces well to remix for a variety of outfits.
- Again, I look in my closet and realize I do not necessarily need all that I currently own but have decided to stop purging until I finish out the seasons {or at least 2014}.
Photography was an issue for me this month. My hubby was gone for half of the month on military duty and that caused me to somewhat “give up” on taking pictures. This means I am taking a few liberties in my recap. Instead of posting 30 outfits, I’m posting my favorites from the month. My favorites are the ones I probably would not have put together aside from the challenge.
In the end, I still love these pieces…all of them! I see so many options to remix them with various other pieces in my closet as well. The options just continue to grow. Would love to hear which outfits you think are the best of these.

You have nailed each look in this series, Carrie. I love remix challenges and remix posts. I have one scheduled for later today and one for Wednesday so stay tuned. =) I also plan on doing a 30 for 30 remix the whole month of September. I’d love for you to follow me along, like I followed you.
I adore and am pinning so many of these outfits. Love the outfits you created with that dark mustard skirt, especially the first one. Your lace tank is gorgeous and you always use so many scarves into great layered outfits. =)
Have a Fantastic & Fashionable New Week!

Taking pics can be difficult sometimes. I have done all mine with the timer function on my camera and an old tripod I got from my parents forever ago. It takes some experimenting, like anything else. I like the pics that you did get, though! That blue patterned button up with the jean shorts is really standing out to me today. Cute outfit!
Carrie says
Good advice, Amy! I have a little tripod and used a few times. I just need to work with it a little more and have some patience.
