It’s 10 on the 10th! Linking up with Leslie over at Once Upon a Time and Happily Ever After for her monthly post on the 10th. Today it’s all about Spring.
- How did you celebrate Spring Break/Easter as a child? My mom always had Easter baskets with candy and other goodies set out for us on Easter morning. After church, we celebrated with family on my mom’s side of the family. Sweet time with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins…maybe even a few shenanigans.
- Do you spring clean? Not really. My husband always had lots of things he would accomplish for “spring” cleaning. I tend to hate it and even the idea of it because I have vivid memories of washing every piece of bedding and drapes, wiping down every wall and baseboard…
- What’s spring weather like where you live? Spring in Texas is beautiful but windy and lots of bluebonnets!
- How green is your thumb? It’s black. Nothing else to say here.
- AC on or windows open? Windows open for as long as the weather permits.
- How do you decorate for Spring/Easter/Passover? No decorating here especially now that I don’t have my own home but am living with a friend.
- How do you get bathing suit/shorts/warm weather ready? Continue to workout and use some sunless-tanner.
- Is your closet arranged with just the current season’s clothing? Typically, I have fall/winter or spring/summer in my closet.
- What’s your go-to spring uniform? I don’t know anymore. I’m hoping Alison at Get Your Pretty On can help me with this issue during the Spring Style Challenge.
- What outdoor activities do you enjoy in the spring? Walking or sitting out by the pool.
Oh, Spring! I’m glad you’re deciding to arrive.
Y’all have a beautiful day and I hope Spring is arriving in your neck of the woods.
Be sure to stop by and visit Leslie and link up your post. Here’s what is coming up for the next months.
Leslie is also hosting a Bucket List on March 21st. Stop by and join her!
Blessings to you! Carrie

I remember having to clean baseboards as a kid. My girls don’t even know it’s a “thing.” This is my first TX spring and I didn’t/don’t know what to expect. There are so many ups and downs in temperature.

Welcome to Texas! Where did you move from? The summers will be long and brutal but blue skies are beautiful.

My sweet friend, thank you for joining me. Thank you for the kind words and for even sharing the upcoming bucket list post. Big ole Texas sized hugs to you. I imagine you are just getting your bearings again now that you are back ‘home’ in Texas. Are you hoping to start teaching again? I think I am finally embracing retirement. Finally.
I can’t wait to see what Alison has in store for the spring challenge. There are always some surprises and trends that I would never have tried without her encouragement.
My poor babies no doubt feel the way you do about the years I had them helping with spring cleaning. Much of their spring break every year was spent washing all the linens, bedding, curtains, cleaning baseboards, closets, ceiling fans. I wish to heavens I could have afforded to take them somewhere beautiful for spring break. And I wished I had been in a better place mentally. But…that is water long under the bridge.
Thank you, dear friend, for your support and friendship!! So glad to have reconnected.

So good to you, Leslie! I am so happy to be back in Texas even though we are currently “homeless” here and living with a friend. It’s been a real blessing though. No teaching for me. I’m actually working for the County Judge and it is a fabulous job and excellent co-workers.

Sitting by the pool sounds wonderful! We definitely can’t do that until summer.

I cannot wait to get some Vitamin D by the pool!

It’s funny how so many people say they have a black thumb! Ha! Yeah, cleaning is something I’d rather avoid if I can, who needs extra of it? Those blue bonnets are so pretty, I wish we had those here!

Oh, cleaning why do you always need to happen when I’d rather be doing something fun? Right?
Dara says
I would love to see the Bluebonnets!
Carrie says
They are beautiful in real life.

That was a fun and light hearted post to read! I also have a black thumb and prefer windows open to air conditioning for as long as I can stand it! Thanks for linking up, my friend!
