During the month of February, Anita who blogs at Anita Ojeda hosts a 28 Days Writing Challenge. She provides a word prompt for each day but also gives me the freedom to write whatever flows out of my fingertips. The point is to write. I hope to write for 28 days using her prompts (or mine). The prompt for day one is: Wonderful!
won·der·ful ~ inspiring delight, pleasure, or admiration; extremely good; marvelous.
The word wonderful always draws my mind back to a movie. You probably know the one. It can be seen every year around Christmastime. You guessed correctly, It’s a Wonderful Life. Actually, my mom found a wooden sign with those exact words and gave it to me. Wherever I have lived it has had a place on the wall in one of our rooms.
Truthfully, I know like doesn’t always seem wonderful. Trials, tribulations, problems, and people can all add up to one big headache. But even with problems life can have facets of wonderful. It may take time and a keen eye to see them, but they are there.
If you’ve seen the movie, you know George’s life didn’t work out as planned. But in the end, his presence and life were needed and important. Plus, he realized all the important things he thought were important measured up to nothing without friends. Learning that lesson proved he really did have a wonderful life.
Wonderful can be a little like beauty in the sense that wonderful can be in the eyes of the beholder. What is wonderful in your eyes?
Blessings to you~ Carrie

I found you from Anita’s link party! (Or whatever it’s called, lol). I really like your take on wonderful – it’s down to earth and focused on truth. Best of luck on the 28 days!

I watched that movie all alone late one night. I was home from the hospital. I usually watch it every year, and The Bishop’s Wife (1947 ), in 2021 I saw twenty minutes of it with a nurse on Christmas Day, Yes, it was wonderful.
