fas·ci·nat·ing ~ extremely interesting
Fascinating is an adjective (or a verb), which means it is a word of description, a describer of a noun (or action).
What is fascinating to you/to me? That changes for each one of us. What I find fascinating someone else may find simply ordinary. I guess if I really ponder what fascinates me, I would go with people. I’m not thinking along the lines of being fascinated with the things people have or the accomplishments made in their lives. No, I’m thinking about how people think and act; how they live out of what they believe.
It’s fascinating to me that people long to be noticed and validated. It’s fascinating that one can determine their value by what others think of them. It’s fascinating that having followers on social media platforms can cause people to feel valued. It’s fascinating to me how people become something they are not in order to be valued. It’s fascinating to me how people will manipulate others and gaslight them to cover up their own insecurities. I could go on, but this might be sounding a little negative. Maybe that is the point and maybe it’s not.
Our fascination with being something or someone important can leave us wanting and empty. I say this from a place of self-examination and observation. It’s really brought me to a place where I find it sad that we as a people have forgotten to live life simply. To care more about the people in front of me (us) than those who hit the like button to provide a false sense of worth and importance. (I have so many thoughts on this subject, which I plan to post about more in the future).
For now, I’ll leave with this thought.
Blessings to you ~ Carrie

I ponder these things too, Carrie, so I appreciate your thoughts. I have found Simon Sinek’s little clips on YouTube to be insightful on human nature.
