Hello! Is anyone there?
It’s been almost a year since I ventured into my little piece of the cyber universe. Many times I’ve tried to compose my thoughts and put a post up, but the words could not make it to my fingertips. Today, I hope to take a little step back to the blogging life that I used to love so dearly. The years of style posts, books, fitness, and food discussions are the exact things I hope to do again in 2023.
It’s hard to believe 2023 came in so quickly and now we are halfway through the month of January, which by the way has had no real signs of winter down here in Texas. That is a sad set of events for a little Iowa girl missing some glistening snow and the opportunity to slip and slide a bit.
Even when the snow and colder temps refuse to drift south, it is still winter and a season of slow. For me, that has become a time of ideas, planning, goals, etc. much like many others have been doing. A New Year and a fresh start to create memories and reset or restart a list of goals is unfolding in my little planning mind.
Since 2023 arrived with the turning of a calendar page, I’ve been reading and listening to books. The last few years have mostly been a wash in this area, but I hope to get back on the wagon and end the year with thousands of pages consumed by my brain. I am happy to report that the student in me is alive and well.
I’m also working on reading the entire Bible this year. I’ve been following a couple of podcasts in that vein while reading multiple chapters and journaling each day. I admit I’m glad for the catch-up days in this process. I know that some days it’s easier to stay on track than others, but it is doable!
My husband and I have returned to the gym. It used to be my happy place, but now I am learning to be comfortable there again. I hope to regain muscle and the weightlifting has begun. I can see change already and that is always encouraging. This is a milestone year for me and I hope to reach some of the same goals I had a few years ago.
I started this blog because of style and clothes. Those two are still some of my loves, but in conjunction with a co-worker, I have been shopping at ThredUp. It has helped me to regain my style and I love getting dressed again. No stylist in my head helping to dress me in things I don’t even like or want to wear. Instead, I’ve been going to work and telling my co-worker, “I love my outfit!” I haven’t said those words in a long time!
Well, I guess that’s it for now. I’m back! I’m working on my plan to be here often. I hope to see some familiar faces and new ones!
Cheers to 2023!
Blessings to you dear reader ~ Carrie

I ease into January too. New beginnings. Second chances to complete goals. A fresh start. I’m trying to read more books this year as well.
I love that you are using Thred Up to create a style for you. It’s been a while since a shopped there. Think I’ll have a look. I’d love to see some of the outfits you’ve pulled together Thred up.
Glad your back blogging.

Thank you, Tasha! Shopping at ThredUp has totally changed my attitude about my style. I’m now curating things that are “me”. It’s been a great experience. Thank you for stopping by!
