Happy Monday, friends! I’m thankful the door is opening to March. It is a month of the transition of leaving winter and entering into spring. I think the old saying is, “March is in like a lion and out like a lamb.” I know this, I am looking forward to warmer and longer days, which are on the horizon.
Life in my little corner of Texas fell back into place after the horrible storms. Actually, we even experienced a couple of days in the 70’s and 80’s. That is unbelievable! But I confess I was so thankful. The blue skies and warmth were so welcomed after the weather of the week before. The warmth of the sun and blue skies were a picture of God’s grace to me. A reminder that things can be renewed.
I have something to be so grateful for because last week I had an issue with my computer that I didn’t think could be solved. My little Macbook Pro was purchased many moons ago. So many that the disk was full and unable to upgrade to the newest operating system. I had resolved to purchase a PC because I thought the cost of a new Mac at this time was pushing my budget limits.
While at Costco about a month ago I purchased a PC that was recommended to me. I had been using it, but it made my life so difficult, especially with blogging. I wasn’t used to the nuances of the PC world and was frustrated quite often. Finally, last week I reached out to a reputable Mac repairman. To my complete amazement he could not only install a new hard drive, but let me know the advantages of the model/year of my Mac. It still would have a long life.
My husband quickly hopped in the truck and went to drop it off for repairs. He {Jason} put me at the front of the line and said repairs were completed by the end of the day. I spoke to this guy {Jason} a couple of times that day. He was such a great guy! I was so blessed by the grace he provided to me in quickly making my repairs.
The next morning I opened my Mac and began to upgrade the operating system. All went well. I decided to call Jason and let him know how much I appreciated him and how grateful I was for his work. I told him I performed the upgrade and he immediately said, “OH! NO…you just undid everything I completed yesterday!” My response…”Dammit!” Literally, that was my response because I’m human and I knew I totally messed up. Sometimes unpleasant words fall off my tongue…Again, I’m human.
He said please bring it back and he would fix it. My husband jumped in the truck again and went to drop my baby off one more time. Thankfully, Jason had made a backup and the baby came back that afternoon.
Y’all, Jason provided an enormous amount of grace to me. Undeserved. He put me first in line. He then repaired my mistake. And…wait for it. He did not charge me again. I deserved to have to pay more but instead, he provided me with grace. I am so grateful. I am so blessed.
I’m sitting here typing on my Mac. Said PC went back to Costco for a full refund. Again, grace only builds gratitude in my heart.
Have you experienced grace recently? Has grace moved your heart into gratitude? I hope so because these are pieces that grow our hearts in humility. Humility allows me to draw closer to the Lord and acknowledge the grace he bestowed on me. I ended the week humbled, grateful, and filled with a beautiful experience in grace.
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. ~ James 4:10

What a wonderful story and Jason sounds like a blessing indeed, customer service is lacking in so many areas and it’s nice to hear and see someone who really has a heart for service. How wonderful!

I am also a recipient of lots of grace — and trusting everyday to be a conduit of grace rather than a stinking stagnant pool.

Love this story of simple graces – but ones that are so important to us.

That is so wonderful that he was able to fix your Mac like that. You are a good reminder to count our blessings because we all have many. In fact, you could look at your experience from either a positive or negative angle, and I love that you continue to search for grace.
