Hello, Monday! Well, are there some Super Bowl watchers here today? Did your team win or do you watch simply because it’s a tradition? I know the last moments of gathering together may have looked totally different this year in the realm of a super celebration. We can hope for better celebrations that may be heading our way in 2021 as the Covid vaccination makes its way into arms across the country. Hoping for better days ahead!
In the meantime, I’m still here working my way through life with grace and gratitude. I decided to start a link-up and all are welcome. Link up your thoughtful posts or what you would like to share with others.
I have been thinking about some things in the last few days and some of the thoughts started a couple of months ago. A few months ago I happened to make some muffins for my husband and I. I had one and decided to have a half of a second. To my astonishment, I asked him if that was ok. He stopped dead in his tracks and asked me why I do that. Why do I ask permission for so many things? I have to say this hit me deeply, especially after I realized that I have a habit of asking permission. When I realized I don’t need permission for so many things, it began a profound change in me.
From there I began to realize I would ask permission because I didn’t trust either myself or my voice. However, as my eyes were opened I knew a change needed to take place. Since the Lord has given me a voice, I had to choose to walk in the confidence of that voice. Guess what? I have begun learning to trust my voice and growing into it. It seems like this should have happened years ago. But the Lord’s timing is perfect and I believe I trusted the voice of my mom more than my own. Now, is the time I have to walk in the way the Lord has for me. Because there is:
...a time to be silent and a time to speak ~ Ecclesiastes 3:7
…and whenever you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear this command behind you: “This is the way. Walk in it.” ~ Isaiah 30:21
There have been other moments that confirmed trusting my voice because the Lord is good to let me hear through the Scriptures, books, words, friends…all different ways. He even uses this little blog. For example, my friend Leslie who blogs at Once Upon a Time and Happily Ever After left me this comment.
This is Carrie at her best. You do fashion and style so well but you do spiritual messages of encouragement even better!! ~ This comment was on the post from last week What’s Saving My Life Right Now. Words of friends that speak life into what I know is going on in my spirit. This is grace…this is the breeding ground for gratitude.
Have you seen grace at work in your life lately? Does it make you grateful? I hope those two are intersecting in your life and blessing 2021 for you.
Before I close, I have some announcements. Good stuff! First, on Thursday, February 18, Ageless Style Link-up is coming back. We are sporting our Sparkle and Shine, which is probably for a night in these days but getting dressed up for a stay in night might be a good thing! Join us!
Another BIG announcement! My blog is being re-branded. Some of you might remember the good ole days when I started this place of mine under the name of A Lovely Little Wardrobe. I took lovely from a verse in Philippians 4:8. That name was a mouthful and I felt limited to style. I never wanted to be all about style. I wanted to write about other things. I changed to A Stylish Fit because style and fitness {health & wellness} are uber important to me {although I still eat too many cookies}. Yet, I longed to really settle into who I truly am, which is a simple small-town girl living in the BIG metro grander of Texas. My life is simple and I now am satisfied and content in that truth. So I’m leaping into the re-brand {soon} of A Simple Lovely Life and from there down the road I’ll be exploring more writing and hopefully a podcast. Originally, I was jumping off into those things under a re-brand of my own name, but I am taking on more responsibilities at work with the Covid vaccine, and that will not come to a halt in a short hot minute. So, I’ll gradually work on writing content and launch that later on down the road. This is little spot will look much prettier and clean sometime shortly down the road. I’m so excited!
Well, friends, have a wonderful week! Thank you so much for stopping by and reading my posts and leaving me your precious comments. I continue to be grateful to have you here.

How exciting that you are putting a new direction and brand to your voice and your blog. I am sticking with my blog name but hoping to revisit why I started blogging in the first place and to get back to writing more. I am thankful to you that you have invited me along for your journey. This is going to be an exciting year for us!!
Thank you for the kind mention. I have always admired your sense of style but more so, your spirituality. You inspire me to want to know God better and more deeply. Thank you for that, Carrie.

Thats a good inside look. It’s not bad to do that sometimes, we can learn and grow from it.
