Words. I love them! When I was a teacher I loved talking about words and their meanings. Back in the day of dictionaries, I could lose track of time after looking up one word. One word led to another and another, etc. You get it, right? I can get a little obsessed.
Since words are important to me, I’ve begun to listen to the dialogue that repeatedly goes on in my head. That dialogue has not always been positive about me or even others. That dialogue has robbed me of precious time on this planet. Time spent beating myself up and chasing a standard of perfection that is impossible for anyone to meet. But then 2019 slapped me up and opened my eyes to the beauty of learning to embrace the imperfection. Life has been hard this year and it’s been turned upside down. My predictable life is no longer predictable. This has caused me to reflect and value some things differently. The illusion of perfect and pursuit of it just can’t be a driving force in my life. This doesn’t mean that the dragon slaying is easy and a one time for all, all done, good-bye. No, it’s a challenge. It’s work to change a mindset and it takes words. Words are part of the key.
Thoughts can become words. Watch your words! {This is what I’m repeating to myself…}
Have a beautiful week!
