Surprise! I would say, “I’m back!”, but instead I’m going to say that I am working on getting back into blogging. Life has been more than unsettled in the last two years and my anxiety has been 100% over the top preventing me from truly living. But, as we try to make progress and move forward we still seem to get caught in to making it over there. Baby steps, one step forward, two backward, and yet not giving up! Joining in with Anne in Residence for one of my favorite monthly posts is a great place to work my way back!
Appreciating ~ There are so many things that fall in the opposite category of this word for me in my life right now. However, I am choosing to appreciate oh so much a recent promotion I received at work. To be honest, over the years I have endured quite a bit of bullying and watched opportunities fly out the door to others. It’s been hard. It’s been heartbreaking, but I’ve been blessed to work with two women who believe in me and helped to give me a leg up. I am more than appreciative.
Ordering ~ Let’s be honest. I have been working on a few things. Sometimes it’s simply ordered for pick up at Target and other times its shoes and clothes. I’m waiting for these booties to arrive. I had a pair and literally wore them out. Round 2 will probably be the same because I love them that much!
Perfecting ~ I’m learning the unusual life of living in an extended stay hotel. After living with my friend for almost a year, she put her house on the market and we had about 30 days until we closed on our new home. And then…builder really did some sucky things to us and we terminated our contract. As 2020, just keeps on giving all of us curveballs, we are embracing and perfecting our current living conditions until the end of the year. It’s all good!
Planning ~ I want to be planning a trip to Iowa to see my dad. The new and growing cases of COVID in Texas and Iowa are preventing that from actually happening at this point. Remember to live one day at a time.
Wearing ~ I want to be wearing more cozy sweaters but Texas weather does not always cooperate. It seems cooler this year than normal so maybe more sweaters are on the horizon. Currently, that may mean a trip to storage to find them or I could just go shopping. I might need some retail therapy!
That’s all I have for today. Hope you have a beautiful day and find something to be grateful for this first Wednesday of November.
Be blessed! ~ Carrie

Oh, the anxiety of 2020 is just terrible, and it sounds like you have even more reason than many for those legit feelings – so sorry to hear about the house! I hope that you get some lovely sweater weather (along with a cute new sweater, perhaps!) and the chance to enjoy it in the moment. Meanwhile, it’s nice to see you back here 🙂

I love your attitudes of embracing the curve balls and living a day at a time. Great reminders anytime but especially this year! I hope you get to see your dad soon though!

So glad to find this update on your life currently. Have missed your mug.
I think you need to do a post about living in an extended stay hotel. It may help
so many who are in similar circumstances. My daughter was in an extended stay
situation for about 2.5 months because their new home wasn’t move-in ready on
time. She had to figure out a whole new way of living during that time.
Love the booties you have ordered. I took advantage of the DSW sale and scored
a couple pairs of boots myself.
Hope you can soon find a way to visit your dad. We are going to KY and Ohio in
December to see our moms. Paul’s mom is still living in her own home so we will
be able to be with her. But my mom is in an assisted living complex and we will
be lucky if we can see her at all.
Hope you will update us again on your life in the near future. In the meantime, big
hugs!!

Hopefully you find a permanent place soon – that stinks about your builder!

So glad to read your blog again! I love those boots, and I’m loving sweater weather too, but knowing me before too long I’ll be complaining about the cold. I’m sorry about your house troubles, I hope things improve soon!!
