Hello, there friends. I have had the best good intentions. My intentions were to be consistent in blogging once again. I’m still going to strive to do that as the year continues to unfold. January did get away from me. Why? Well, on January 2nd I received a call and had a job interview the following Monday. The next day, I was offered the job. The best job, y’all! I will definitely write about it more in the future, but let me just say I am totally blessed!
Another good intention is to link up with Anne in Residence each month for Currently. I have always loved writing these posts and reading what other bloggers have to share in their Currently posts.
Loving ~ I am loving a new year, a new decade that awaits with all of its surprises. Next week, is Valentine’s Day and I plan to celebrate it and lavish some sweet love on my husband. Not just because I love him, but because last year we celebrated zero holidays and special days…including our 25th wedding anniversary. Welcome, 2020! We will celebrate EVERYTHING this year! A friend of mine makes the best cookies. I’m picking these up for my hubby. I have some other surprises in mind too, but I had to share these beauties.
Embracing ~ Living back in Texas. Friends, I love Texas. Every bit of it. I have totally embraced the title of being a “Southern Yankee” coined by one of my co-workers. Oh, how I love it. Give me all the chips and salsa, guacamole, Buc’ee’s, y’alls, honey, darling, baby, doll, Lone Star flags, etc. Want to know what else? I actually get to work in our historic courthouse in the middle of our downtown. Can’t get much more Texan than that, y’all!
Tasting ~ I wish I was tasting fewer carbs and sugar. I am addicted! I admit it. Some days I feel powerless to conquer my cravings, but I know I can because I have in the past. I am working on it and remembering not to take on shame when I fail. I’m still trying hard to get back on feet after all the life troubles of 2019.
Wearing ~ Oh, girl! I am wearing work clothes. Like the real deal of things I love. Blazers, skirts, jewelry, heels, etc. I am remembering who I am in that realm and how the “real me” is coming back to the surface because she has been buried. That girl who loves work clothes is trying really hard to come back and get it all together once again. Who knows…you might (read – will) see some style posts from me in the future.
Preparing ~ Several times a week I am preparing my workout clothes before I go to bed so when the alarm goes off at 4:30 am, I can “hop” out of bed and get my butt to Camp Gladiator. I’m thankful we have the opportunity to live with one of my precious friends who got me hooked.
And what are up to Currently? Can’t wait to find out.
Thank you for reading my friends!
May you be richly blessed! Carrie xoxo

Finally, I got the fingertips to the computer for something other than “window shopping”. lol Yes, to all the workouts!

Carrie, HUGE congrats on your new job–and it sounds like 2020 is already a significant improvement over a rough 2019. I hope you celebrate the big AND the little this year. Because there’s nothing like the blessing of an ordinary day. See you soon!
Carrie says
Thank you, Carolyn! I definitely needed a reminder to celebrate all of it!

You sound busy – glad your 2020 is going well so far. I don’t work anymore, but I still prefer “work” clothes to “work-out” clothes. I always loved how put together I felt in well tailored pieces like skirts and jackets. It will be fun to see some style post.
Carrie says
I totally agree about tailored pieces. They make me feel put together and confident for sure. Hope you have a fabulous week!

Those cookies are so cute! Welcome back to Texas! What part of TX are you in?
Carrie says
We are in North Texas – DFW area. Where are you?
Erin @ Cracker Crumb Lifee says
Those cookies are so super cute!!
And congrats on the new job! How wonderful!
Carrie says
Thank you! They are so cute and I wish I had that talent, but with my total sugar addiction right now it’s probably best I don’t. lol Hope you’re having a great day!
Jennifer says
So super impressed that you can hop out of bed – at 4:30!! Recently changed my routine to 6:30…and was so impressed with myself!! LOL
Carrie says
Not gonna lie. It’s not always easy, but it’s usually three days a week M/T/TH so W and F I feel like I’m totally sleeping in. 6:30 is still early my friend!

Those cookies are so awesome! My husband and I don’t celebrate most of the holidays but I’ve already picked him up a few things and hidden them – hopefully I remember where lol
I just moved to the PNW from FL so I’m wearing all the winter clothes. I don’t love the cold so much but I do love sweaters and jackets and boots!
Karen @ For What It’s worth
Carrie says
You will remember! 🙂 I love sweaters but I enjoy the option to not have to wear layers and/or coats. I’m sure that is a hard transition from FL to PNW. Thank you for stopping by!

Wow! I don’t think you require an excuse for not blogging, but if there is to be an excuse, that’s a very worthy one. So excited to hear you’re loving the new job. Even more amazing that it comes with feeling more back to yourself – fun how style can do that. Glad to have you join in and see your update!
Carrie says
Thank you, Anne! Always a great encourager. 🙂
