And here we are. We almost made it to the end of 2020. It feels as though we have been holding our breath waiting for 2020 to be in the rearview mirror. Just a couple of short weeks until the calendar turns 2021. What then? Not everything will change but maybe we will all feel a little refreshed. But I’m rushing ahead and almost skipping over the best part of the year – Christmas. When December enters we all can just rejoice for the sweetness of the season…after all, it is the most wonderful time of the year! Today, it’s celebration time with Anne in Residence for the final Currently post of this year.
Baking ~ I’ve been craving muffins. I spent more time than necessary on Pinterest to find the perfect recipe. And I did! Grain-free pumpkin {deliciousness} muffins. Easy peasy and worth every calorie.
Decorating ~ I am currently decorating nothing. Nada. Not one thing. Does that sound like I’m Ba Humbug? Well, no that is not true. The truth is we {my husband and I} are living in an extended stay hotel and most of our stuff is in storage. Waiting to move into a house and hopefully, we will be in one for Christmas. Then we shall decorate!
Gifting ~ Working on a shortlist of gifting this year. Honestly, I will probably gift it to many of the staff at the hotel. They have been so kind to us and they work HARD. Covid has surely made it more difficult for them to navigate the hotel business.
Hoping ~ I’m hoping hard and praying hard that we have exactly zero hiccups on this house. 2020 has been the year of house hunting/buying nightmare hell. One I didn’t know if we would ever escape. I see a light at the end of the tunnel and an escape to homeownership very soon.
Sending ~ I wish I was sending Christmas cards, but the answer is no. No, I’m not but I hope to send a few packages to surprise my dad.
And that is the final wrap for Currently 2020. Hope you have a great day!
Linking up with Anne in Residence.
Blessings ~ Carrie

Carrie, very, very best wishes to you + your husband! Is that the house you’re trying to buy, the beautiful brick home pictured above? I *love* it. May all the compassion and care you put into the world come back to you and wrap you up. Your energy + resilience is inspiring.

I wish you all the best prayers and luck for your home buying, and that you are there by Christmas. And I love that you will be gifting the hotel staff, that is so thoughtful!

Fingers crossed that all goes well with the house – sounds like that will be a Christmas present in and of itself. And despite the craziness of moving, it also is fun to have a new place right in time for Christmas – I think the holidays in a new home are always so special. Thanks for joining in, and I do hope you get a chance to savor the season a bit. You deserve it!

My daughter and granddaughter were in an extended stay hotel for 6 weeks waiting for their house to be completed. It was so hard to go from 3000 square feet to about 300!! Praying your house deal goes through…what a lovely place to call HOME.

I can’t imagine having to live in a hotel like that, so here’s wonderful prayers that things go smooth and fast!!!

Those pumpkin muffins look delicious! Definitely saving that recipe for my mom and daughter to work on!
You are so kind to think about gifting the hotel staff! I can’t imagine the challenges that they’re facing right now with everything going on. Also, your statement about 2021 is so spot-on. I’m trying not to be overly optimistic and think that a change of the calendar to a new year will solve everything, but it feels like a new beginning, which is even more important after this year!

Those muffins look delicious! Is that house your soon-to-be home? It is so pretty! Sending all the smooth buying vibes for no more hiccups! It sounds like this is the year to just have a simple Christmas, so it’s good that you’re not trying to pile on too much!
