Week 3 of Create28 collided with Snovid-21 in Texas. I had pre-planned and snapped these photos on the Sunday before our massive winter weather in Texas. I’m glad I did because of the rolling outages we had to deal with for the entire week.
Day 15 ~ Moto Jacket
I really like the concept of the moto jacket and I have a couple that are not black leather. However, I don’t typically wear this one and I wanted to challenge myself to wear it. I tried it several ways and settled on this look because…wait for it. I LIKED it!
Day 16 ~ Camo
Oh, my friends, I love camo. It is one of the dominant prints in my closet. I truly never get tired of it. This blouse is from Express Outlet and I truly think it’s one of my favorite.
Day 17 ~ Jewel Tones
Remember back in the day when “you got colors done?” I wish I would have taken that a little more seriously because jewel tones are where it’s at for me. They really are my best colors!
Day 18 ~ Sparkle & Shine
Sparkly and shiny is not really me, but then again…I’m trying to wear what’s in my closet and challenge myself.
Day 19 ~ Denim Jacket
This little jacket is from J.Crew and I adore the furriness of it. It makes it unique and I need a little unique in my closet.
Day 20 ~ Vests
So, I love furry vests too. Another J.Crew purchase, although this is J.Crew Factory.
Day 21 ~ Leggings
I purchased these faux leather leggings a year ago. I rarely wore them, so again forcing myself to try something new. I discovered I do like these.
Well, friends. The final week of Create28 is going on now. I’m working on something fun and similar for March. Details coming soon…but before I close I thought I would add a little hodgepodge and join in with Joyce From This Sid of the Pond.
- My favorite cleaning products are typically Mrs. Meyers or Method brand. I love me some Dr. Bronner’s as well. Yep, the hubs and I clean our house. I hate to dust but I don’t mind cleaning bathrooms.
- I typically have some canned goods in the pantry, but I’m fairly selective and don’t cook a lot with canned goods. However, I will always have some beans (black, refried, etc.) on hand. I’ll also have a hatch sauce and jalapenos on hand as well. Last thing we used that was canned – refried beans. I imagine you can see the Mexican/Southwest palette going on at our house.
- As of yesterday, the temps in our area were hovering close to 80’s. That’s a drastic difference from a week ago when we hit -4. Thankfully, we have kicked the can of cold weather down the road for a few days. Texans + cold weather = some sort of disaster.
- I would love a spa day or at least a massage. It’s been years since I’ve had one. Yes, all types of salons are open for business and have been for quite some time. I have been consistent with my getting my hair cut and colored but have slacked on pedicures.
- February kicked my butt.

I have fallen off the wagon! I have really enjoyed the challenge but have felt a little uncreative lately with the weather being so weird: 30s in the am and 70 in the afternoon this week. Time to use all my little spring jackets.

I am losing my momentum as well. However, this has encouraged me to remix things in my closet and I’m happy about trying to do that. Thanks for stopping by today!

Once the weather warms up a bit, I need to start wearing my jean jacket and vests more. I do love them!!! I don’t have a moto jacket, but I’ve always thought they were cute. Love yours!

Are you in the arctic temps somewhere? If so, I hope you will be warming up soon. Thank you for stopping by!

Two things Carrie!!
1-I do think the more we wear something, the more we like it. That’s exactly what I try to do when I find something that I don’t reach for as easily!! In fact, I make myself come up with 4-5 different ways to wear it. Not that I love them all, but it helps to push myself that way.
2-I was just talking to my friend who is a huge anti toxins in our environment researcher. We had just bought some Mrs Meyer’s hand soap and I was asking her if it was non toxic like it said. She said it’s not. I mean, we still use what we bought, but I guess I need to find something else that will be better for us!!! Not that everyone cares about those things, but in case you do!!

I sorta knew Mrs. Meyers wasn’t completely non-toxic. For sure, the fragrance is bad…but I adore their Iowa Pine scent. Can’t help myself.

I love those jewel tones outfits! A spa day right now sounds fantastic! I’d be right there with you!

I love your jewel tones outfit. That yellow piece is such a beauty! February is kicking my butt too. I feel like I am in a creative rut because I just don’t have the energy at the end of the day. Plus, without anywhere to go, it just doesn’t make any sense to get dressed up. At least for me. We also keep canned beans around. Our microwave died recently so it’s been a life saver!

I have sure enjoyed having the Create28 prompts to help me figure out what to wear. I haven’t always shared a photo but have been playing a long to some degree. It has been fun. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
I have been buying some of Target’s cleaning supplies lately. Everspring line. They smell so good and biobased and biodegradable.
We are having a massage at Woodhouse Spa next weekend. I love their relaxation room and would be happy just sitting in there for a few hours. The massage is icing on the cake.
