Being grateful is something I struggle with on regular basis. Unfortunately, I’m one of those people who see the glass as half empty instead of half full. In that struggle, I tend to view life. I’m a deep thinker and I contemplate and ruminate often to my own detriment. I get tripped up on making decisions and question the ones I do make. Within that mindset, comes my struggle to remember to be grateful. Don’t get me wrong, I am grateful and I’m also blessed, but I tend to forget to express those things. I tend to forget to remind myself just how blessed and how loved I really am.
But today The Blended Blog is all about gratitude. I thought this would be a great time to remember what I have to be grateful for each day.
I’m loved…
The Lord loves me.
These people love me.
That soldier at the bottom right is mine. He loves me and he will willingly sacrifice for me and others. That’s love, baby!
My family…brother, Dad, and Mom. They have always loved and supported me. Thankful to have these people in my life.
This girl…Best co-worker ever! I miss her every.single.day since I went back into the classroom.
Those beautiful ladies of The Blended Blog…no better blogging friends, ever!
I’m grateful for home.
This is my current house. Not only is it home but it’s warm, cozy and feels like it’s always been home.
This is where I grew up. The house that will always be home even when new owners move in and take up residence in our rooms.
This was Grandma’s house. Grateful for the years of sweet memories in every room.
These are but a few things I’m grateful for in this moment of typing. I think being grateful needs to be continued. Stay tuned…to be continued.
Hope you have the best Monday! Hugs, Carrie

I love that you have pictures of old houses. Thank you to your Mr. for his service! I like that you are going to keep it going…might have to join in!
Carrie says
Thank you, friend! I’m trying to rethink my blog a little for the new year. I might try a thankful series or something like that.
Sarah @ Foxy's Domestic Side says
That would be cool if you did that.

Thank you for practicing gratitude right here where everyone can “hear” you and be helped by it in our own practice of gratitude. It certainly takes practice!
Carrie says
It does that practice!

Isnt it funny how homes get new owners & its still your “home base” 🙂 … I always think of Miranda Lambert’s song, The house that built me…
Carrie says
That song so resonates with me. Makes me cry too. The words were going through my head when I started this post. Still want to write a post entitled The Houses that Built Me. It’s so darn true!

What a great post, Carrie. Doesn’t look to me that you struggle with expressing gratitude for your blessings. Love that you share pics of the home where you grew up and your grandmother’s house. I haven’t been to my grandmothers’ houses in so long. Probably 30 years since I was at my paternal grandmother’s or more. And aside from driving by once, haven’t been to my maternal grandmother’s house since 1970. Wow, long, long time.
Hope that you are able to keep up with your former work buddy from time to time. I have so many friends that were in my life for a season. Would love an opportunity to catch up with each of them. Sad that I have lost touch with them.
