~ 10 Things I Love About Spring ~
My sweet friend, Leslie, who blogs at Once Upon a Time and Happily Ever After hosts 10 on the 10th each month. For the month of March, it’s all about ten things I love about spring.
- Long days are high on the list. I love seeing the sun shining brightly in the morning when I leave for the office and when I return in the afternoon.
- The promise of warmer temperatures when the windows can be open. The furnace will be off and so will the A/C for a couple of months. I love the fresh air to linger throughout the house.
- The sound of singing birds brings me so much joy. I know it’s spring when the birds happily share their melodies in the backyard.
- The emergence of green to replace the brown covering the lawns is always welcome.
- Planting flowers in the beds and seeing bluebonnets are an announcement of spring in Texas.
- Well, I don’t necessarily love this one, but getting my taxes completed and sent off takes the mystery out of, “How much do I owe this year?”
- Changing the closet from winter to spring means colorful outfit planning. Maybe a little shopping to add a few new pieces to the wardrobe as well.
- The possibility of planting a garden. Will we make it this year? Maybe. We tore down the deck that came as a part of this home purchase. It was huge and not in great shape. It’s so nice to have a bigger {and cleaner} backyard.
- Grilling season is starting in a hot minute…as soon as we find some patio furniture and a grill.
- Last, but for me the most important. It’s the season of Lent and Easter. A time of reflection into the meaning and pinnacle of my faith. The One who laid down his life…
I hope spring has sprung or at least you can see some hope of its arrival. Sending you the sweetness of spring today, my friends.
Who doesn’t love a blog post that does double duty? I’ve done a few of these lately and I’m enjoying combing posts. Well, I’m doing it again today. I’ve been following Daenel who blogs at Living Outside the Stacks for her series of Style Interpreting Art. I really love the posts and have wanted to participate in the challenge. So today is the day.
The artwork is by Pierre Bonnard, titled Woman with a Dog.
My interpretation picked up on the pattern, pattern mixing and colors. Of course, a girl with her dog. Her name is Ellie and she is a white German Shepherd.

I was wondering what to write on Friday’s post and will join on the 10 on the 10th (but the 12th lol). I love spring! It gets hot so fast here. And your representation of the painting is perfect, complete with a dog!

Absolutely love your SIA outfit. That tobacco colored sweater is so pretty. And I love gingham. Great interpretation of the photo, to include sweet Ellie.
Thank you for playing along for 10 on the 10th. So glad to have you join me. Our lists are very similar. So enjoyed hearing baby birds peeping outside my door yesterday as I wrote my post. And while I tend to gravitate to many of the same colors year-round, it is nice to add some spring shades back into the closet and the mix. Get the grill, girl!! You can’t live in Texas if you don’t grill out once a week all summer.

Love your outfit!! What a fun idea…and what a sweet pup:) I am amazed at how much joy the birds bring me. We love listening for them each morning and just watching them outside by the feeder. Truly, we are turning into old people:) Loved your bird photo, too!! Happy spring – enjoyed your list!
